Helping You Understand Concussion

Finding Your Way Forward

Concussion can be an overwhelming and often confusing experience. Understanding symptoms, finding appropriate healthcare support, navigating recovery, and knowing what steps to take next can be challenging for patients and their families.

Concussion Help Canada was created to make that journey easier to navigate

Our goal is to provide accessible, reliable information and practical resources that help individuals better understand concussion, recognize the complexities of recovery, and feel more informed and supported along the way.

We bring together educational resources, recovery tools, symptom and recovery tracking, and guidance to help individuals and families find appropriate support.

We also provide dedicated resources for healthcare professionals to support continued learning, improve understanding, and encourage informed approaches to concussion care.

We recognize that every concussion and every recovery journey is different. There is no single path to recovery, and having access to the right information, resources, and support can make a meaningful difference.

Whether you are experiencing a concussion, supporting someone through recovery, or working in healthcare, Concussion Help Canada is here to help you better understand concussion and find your way forward.

Our Approach

Concussion Help Canada's Mission

Concussion Help Canada was created from a simple but important realization: people need better access to reliable concussion education, practical recovery strategies, and resources to help them navigate their recovery.

My interest in concussion management is both professional and personal. Through specialized concussion training, I began to recognize how previous, undiagnosed head injuries may have contributed to some of the ongoing health challenges I experienced throughout my life, including chronic headaches. This experience reinforced how easily concussions can go unrecognized and how important awareness and education are, even years after an injury.

Throughout my work as a Registered Massage Therapist specializing in concussion management and complex injury rehabilitation, I have seen how education, individualized treatment, and appropriate homecare strategies can make a meaningful difference. Patients frequently expressed that they wished this information and guidance were more readily available to others.

Recognizing the limitations of how many people I could reach through clinical practice alone, I created Concussion Help Canada to extend that support beyond the treatment room. My goal is to make valuable information, practical tools, and recovery resources more accessible so that more individuals and families can feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their concussion journey.

Concussion Help Canada is here to support individuals, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals seeking to better understand concussion and navigate the challenges it can present.

Individuals Experiencing Concussion: Providing accessible education, recovery tools, and practical resources to help individuals better understand their symptoms, track their experiences, and make informed decisions throughout recovery.

Families and Caregivers: Helping loved ones better understand the effects of concussion, recognize the challenges of recovery, and access resources to provide meaningful support.

Healthcare Professionals: Offering educational resources and practical tools to support continued learning, strengthen understanding of concussion-related challenges, and encourage informed, comprehensive approaches to patient care.

Whether you are experiencing a recent concussion, navigating persistent symptoms, supporting someone through recovery, or working in healthcare, our goal is to help you find relevant information, resources, and support.

We believe that education and understanding are essential parts of navigating concussion recovery. Because concussion can affect multiple aspects of physical, cognitive, and everyday functioning, we recognize the importance of looking beyond individual symptoms and considering the whole person.

Our approach focuses on:

  • Education and Awareness: Making concussion information easier to understand and increasing awareness of the potential short- and long-term effects of head injuries.

  • Practical Recovery Strategies: Providing tools, recommendations, and resources that can help individuals navigate daily activities and participate in their recovery.

  • Self-Advocacy: Empowering individuals to better understand their symptoms, communicate their experiences, and participate in informed conversations about their healthcare.

  • Accessible Resources: Bringing together educational materials, recovery tools, and healthcare resources in one place to make finding appropriate support easier.

  • Comprehensive Understanding: Recognizing the interconnected nature of body systems and how concussion can influence movement, balance, vision, cardiovascular function, cognitive abilities, and overall daily functioning.

Our goal is to bridge the gap between information received during healthcare appointments and the practical knowledge individuals need when managing their recovery in everyday life.

Our resources are intended to complement professional healthcare services, not replace individualized assessment, diagnosis, or treatment.
